Mirziyoyev proposes to prescribe the inviolability of private property and housing in the Constitution

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev proposed to write in the Constitution the inviolability of private property and housing.

During a meeting with members of the constitutional commission, the head of Uzbekistan said that the people know the problem called "demolition". He noted that in order to eradicate demolitions, it is necessary to designate a constitutional guarantee of housing rights. The President stated that people should not be evicted without a court order.

The head of Uzbekistan noted that if the building is determined to be demolished, the owner must receive compensation in an amount equal to the value of the property before the demolition began.

The Constitution proposes the obligation to protect the housing rights of the population, as well as to provide housing for those in need.

Mirziyoyev noted that it is necessary to strengthen constitutional guarantees to ensure the protection of private property in the Constitution. So that every entrepreneur, regardless of size, always feels in practice that he is under the protection of the state, the Constitution, laws and the president.

At the same time, the President noted that it was time to raise the issue of non-revision and annulment of the results of denationalization and privatization as a constitutional norm.

“We need to remove all barriers and obstacles to the development of entrepreneurship, which is the main driving force of our economy,” the President said.

The head of state proposed to enshrine in the Constitution the freedom of movement of goods, services, labor and finance, as well as to prescribe the right of an entrepreneur to choose any field of activity that is not prohibited by law.
