Mirziyoyev and Putin Agree on Measures to Strengthen Economic Cooperation
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 8 July, a telephone conversation took place between the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, and the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin.
During the discussion, the parties thoroughly addressed current issues related to further deepening Uzbek-Russian relations within the framework of comprehensive strategic partnership and alliance. Special emphasis was placed on the practical implementation of agreements reached at the highest level, primarily in the areas of trade and economics.
The importance of continuing coordinated actions and interagency cooperation was highlighted to actively increase mutual trade turnover, promote industrial cooperation projects in priority sectors, strengthen collaboration between regions of both countries, as well as to intensify cultural, humanitarian, and educational exchanges.
In this context, the significance of meticulous preparation and ensuring high efficiency for the second meeting of the Council of Regions of Uzbekistan and Russia, scheduled for the autumn of this year, was emphasized.
The heads of state also exchanged views on pressing issues of the international agenda and agreed on the schedule of upcoming bilateral events.
