Mirziyoyev and Erdogan discuss Uzbek-Turkish relations
Recep Tayyip Erdoğan congratulated Shavkat Mirziyoyev with the victory in the presidential elections in Uzbekistan, which were held on 4 December 2016.
During phone conversation, the sides discussed actual issues of inter-governmental relations.
Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Shavkat Mirziyoyev underlined that mutual firm readiness to strengthen and expand the Uzbek-Turkish multilateral dialogue and mutual beneficial cooperation.
Erdogan expressed frank gratitude for warm welcome and hospitality during the visit of Turkish delegation to Uzbekistan in November 2016.
The sides underlined that modern bilateral relations are based on firm foundation of historic and spiritual commonness of Uzbek and Turkish people and directed at achieving practical results, which would equally meet mutual interest.
They noted that Uzbekistan and Turkey are in favour of filling partnership with quality content, taking into account significant potential in economy, investment-technological, cultural-humanitarian and other spheres.
Two leaders said that the sides support boosting of contacts at the level of foreign political bodies, ministries and structures of economic blocks. The sides reached agreement to hold next session of intergovernmental commission on trade-economic cooperation soon.
During the meeting, the leaders of Uzbekistan and Turkey noted that the sides determined concrete spheres for realization of mutual beneficial investment projects with participation of leading Turkish companies in line with achieved agreements at Samarkand meeting.
Uzbek and Turkish sides agreed to exchange official visits and gave corresponding orders to interested ministries and departments.
