Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A bilateral meeting in a narrow format was held at the Presidential Palace in Ankara between the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, and the President of Türkiye, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

At the outset, the leaders warmly congratulated each other on the upcoming holy month of Ramadan, an important period for the Muslim community.

The discussions took place in a constructive and substantive atmosphere. The main focus was on further strengthening Uzbek-Turkish relations within the framework of a comprehensive strategic partnership, particularly in the political, trade and economic, and cultural-humanitarian spheres. Both leaders expressed satisfaction with the current high pace of bilateral dialogue and active cooperation at all levels, and welcomed the successful outcomes of the recent strategic planning meeting held in the “4+4” format.

During the talks, attention was drawn to the steady increase in mutual trade, the growth in the number of joint ventures, and the expansion of direct air connectivity between the two countries, as well as the regular organization of joint cultural events. The parties emphasized the importance of implementing joint projects and programs in industry, agriculture, social protection, and other priority areas.

Special attention was given to enhancing coordination in defense and security, as well as combating cybercrime. The leaders also exchanged views on pressing international and regional issues, reaffirming their commitment to the consistent development of the strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and Türkiye.
