Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 17 October 2022, on the first day of the International Week of Innovative Ideas "InnoWeek-uz-2022", negotiations between the Minister of Innovative Development of the Republic of Uzbekistan and Executive Vice President and CEO for Europe, Middle East and Africa of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Ltd. were held in the INNO Technopark building under the Ministry of Innovative Development.
The meeting was also attended by the First Deputy Minister and specialists of the Ministry of Energy, as well as representatives of MHI Russia LLC.
It should be noted that the Republic of Uzbekistan ratified the Paris Climate Agreement in 2018 in order to develop the use of environmentally friendly energy sources. As a national contribution to its implementation by 2030, our republic has committed to reduce the share of greenhouse gas emissions per unit of GDP by 10% by 2030 compared to the level of 2010.
The meeting discussed the organization of research in the field of low-carbon technologies, including hydrogen energy technologies. An exchange of views took place on the issues of establishing an exchange of specialists in the field of hydrogen energy and low-carbon technologies, as well as conducting scientific internships for young scientists. The need to involve scientific institutions and industrial sectors of Uzbekistan in partnership projects was noted.
Following the meeting, an agreement was reached on signing a memorandum of cooperation with Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Ltd. within the framework of the Week Innoweek.Uz-2022.
