Ministry of Health: Uzbekistan to enhance medical care for hemophilia patients

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Ministry of Health: Uzbekistan to enhance medical care for hemophilia patientsUzbekistan's Minister of Health Asilbek Khudayarov held a meeting with representatives of the World Federation of Hemophilia and the All-Russian Hemophilia Society.

During the discussion, it was noted that in recent years, Uzbekistan has been actively cooperating with several international organizations on the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of hemophilia, a hereditary blood disorder. Local specialists have been undergoing training and professional development in leading clinics across developed countries.

In the near future, surgeons from the Republican Specialized Scientific and Practical Medical Center of Hematology will begin similar advanced training courses at a leading clinic in Russia.

According to Yuri Zhulev, President of the All-Russian Hemophilia Society, gene therapy research is being conducted not only in the Russian Federation but also in Uzbekistan. These clinical trials help significantly reduce treatment duration and lower the disability rate among patients.

The meeting also addressed key issues such as expanding joint projects, developing regional diagnostic and laboratory services, ensuring the procurement of essential medications for patients, improving the emergency medical response system, and enhancing the prevention of blood coagulation disorders in children.
