Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A delegation of Uzbekistan led by Minister of Health Abdukhakim Khadjibayev held talks with Shin Yong Geum, chief physician of the Medical Center at the Cheonnam State University of the Republic of Korea, Dunyo news agency reported.

The delegation got acquainted with the activities of this medical center, as well as the organization of work in the departments of diagnostics, oncology, rehabilitation, brain diseases, articular pathologies.

During the meeting, Shin Yong Geum separately dwelled on the most advanced methods of oncology treatment in the medical center. The capabilities of a modern medical genetic laboratory, which allows the use of stem cells in bone marrow transplantation, were demonstrated. It was emphasized that the high level of technological equipment of the hospital makes it possible to perform ultra-precise diagnostics and carry out non-invasive operations in the field of brain oncology.

As the head of the Center noted, the main priority of the hospital in the fight against cancer is the introduction and use of advanced technologies.

During the meeting, the parties noted with satisfaction that, within the framework of established practical interaction, medical specialists from Jizzakh and Tashkent regions of our republic had previously had the opportunity to undergo training and training in this clinic.

In order to further expand and promote bilateral practical cooperation, following the talks, a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between the Ministry of Health of Uzbekistan and the Medical Center at the Cheonnam State University.

On the same day, the delegation visited the Converged Medical Devices Industry Support Center in Gwangju City for a comprehensive study of its activities. This institution is headed by Yun Taek Rim, professor at the Cheongnam University Medical Center, who has been an advisor to the Minister of Health of Uzbekistan since 2017.

The South Korean side demonstrated the production process of producing high-tech artificial joints for use in complex operations.

Following the meeting, an agreement was reached with South Korean partners to study the possibility of organizing the production of similar finished products in Uzbekistan.

The visit of the delegation of Uzbekistan to the Republic of Korea has ended.
