Ministry of Health comments on the information on the spread of an unknown virus among children

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Ministry of Health of Uzbekistan commented on a video about the spread of an unknown virus among children in Tashkent.

Earlier, a video was circulated on social networks that an unknown disease was spreading among children in the capital. The doctor called for quarantine in schools and kindergartens.

The department noted that it will check the situation and if it turns out that the doctor’s request is justified, specialists will take the necessary measures.

In fact, the incidence of influenza and ARVI peaks every year in autumn and winter. Therefore, in the fall in the country, not only children, but also adults get sick with influenza and ARVI more often than at other times of the year, the Ministry of Health said.

According to the data, from 18 September to 27 September, a total of 42,000 calls were received at the call center of the Tashkent city ambulance station, of which more than 10,000 calls were registered with a number of symptoms of diseases, such as fever, weakness, headache, runny nose.

The deputy head of the SES Nurmat Otabekov noted that experts say that an unknown virus is not detected in children who are admitted to hospital with a fever, and the disease is caused by a simple ARVI.

It is noted that the Ministry of Health has taken measures to prevent the spread of seasonal ARVI in the country. All children with this disease are under full medical supervision.
