Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - In the first quarter of 2021, the ambulance service received 2 million 709 thousand 135 calls. Unfortunately, 1,874 of them were false, the Ministry of Health said in a statement.
It is known that in connection with the increased attention that has been paid to the health care system in the country in recent years, a completely new system has been formed in this direction, the material and technical base of the regional branches of the Republican Scientific Center for Emergency Medical Aid has been strengthened, their offices in districts and cities.
As a result, public confidence in this service is growing every year.
If we turn to the figures, then in 2020, 11 million calls were received by the “103” service from the population of our country, and in the first quarter of 2021 this figure was 2 million 709 thousand 135.
Over 300 thousand calls were registered in Ferghana and Andijan regions, more than 200 thousand - in Tashkent, Namangan, Samarkand, Surkhandarya, Kashkadarya regions and in the capital.
It should be noted that over the same period of last year, ambulance service received more than 3 million calls from our compatriots. It is appropriate to link this to the terms of the 2020 pandemic. This is due to the fact that during the quarantine period, most citizens, not wanting to leave their homes due to the risk of COVID-19 infection, called an ambulance.
Unfortunately, despite the modern conditions created by our state, there are still problems and issues that need to be addressed. For example, sometimes the ambulance team cannot arrive in time to the address from which the call came.
So, if the "103" service is fully staffed with the necessary personnel, modern and specialized vehicles with all the necessary medical equipment, why are there cases when the team is delayed?
The main reason for this is false calls from citizens. These include cases when the address is incorrect, they do not open the door to the "103" brigade, the patient is not at the place of the call, they refuse that they called an ambulance.
If we analyze the figures on this score, then in the first quarter of 2021, the ambulance service from citizens received about 2,000 false calls.
The largest number of such calls was registered in the Surkhandarya region - 497. In addition, 387 false calls were registered in Ferghana, 249 - in Tashkent, 204 - in Kashkadarya regions.
It should be noted that during the same period of 2020, about 3,000 false calls were registered.
True, as a result of an increase in medical literacy and personal responsibility of our population, these figures are decreasing from year to year. But we must all remember that every false call can endanger a person’s life.
