Ministry of Energy: Uzbekistan Sets New Record for Daily Electricity Consumption
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 25 January, the Ministry of Energy of Uzbekistan reported record levels of electricity consumption and confirmed the stable operation of the sector in supplying resources to both the population and enterprises.
The information was provided by Dildora Khashimova, Head of the Ministry’s Public Relations Department.
According to the Ministry of Energy, on January 24 the country set a new record for daily electricity consumption, reaching 283 million kWh (excluding small-scale solar generation). For comparison, the previous records were 271.8 million kWh on January 11, 2025, and 272.6 million kWh in July of the same year.
On January 25, power plants generated 264.2 million kWh, exceeding planned targets by 103%, while electricity supplied to consumers amounted to 246.9 million kWh, 3% above the planned volume.
Daily natural gas consumption reached 144.7 million cubic meters, of which 1.5 million cubic meters were used for refueling vehicles and public transport, including 81,813 cubic meters in the Fergana Valley through an automated accounting and control system.
For household and social sector needs, 2,300 tons of liquefied gas were produced, 9% above the planned volume, with 500 tons supplied per day.
Regional liquefied gas reserves currently total 6,700 tons, exceeding previous levels by 2 tons.
During the day, operational teams addressed five incidents in the power grid and one in the gas network.
In total, 1,479 specialized crews, comprising 7,596 employees, operate around the clock in an enhanced mode across electricity and gas supply enterprises to ensure the stability of energy provision.
