Ministry of Energy Reports Stable Energy Supply Amid Cold Weather
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan continues to maintain a stable supply of electricity, natural and liquefied gas, as well as motor fuels, despite the recent drop in temperatures, the Ministry of Energy reported following a briefing on 29 January.
According to the ministry, power plants across the country generated 277.4 million kWh of electricity in a 24-hour period, of which 249.7 million kWh were supplied to consumers. Natural gas consumption reached 145.2 million cubic meters.
Households were given priority: gas supply to vehicle refueling compressor stations was limited, while 1.1 million cubic meters of natural gas were allocated for special machinery and public transport.
Liquefied gas production reached 2,300 tons, of which 2,100 tons were directed to the population and social infrastructure facilities. Stocks of liquefied gas at regional refueling stations increased by 100 tons, reaching 7,700 tons.
Supplies of gasoline and diesel fuel remain sufficient to meet the needs of both the population and economic sectors. On 29 January, 13,360 tons of gasoline and 15,104 tons of diesel fuel were offered at exchange auctions, of which 5,501 tons of gasoline and 2,845 tons of diesel were sold. Additionally, 2,120 tons of liquefied gas were offered, with 2,060 tons sold.
On the same day, emergency crews promptly addressed two malfunctions at electrical facilities. The country’s energy system is operating around the clock under reinforced monitoring.
To ensure uninterrupted electricity and gas supply, 1,479 specialized brigades comprising 7,596 personnel are working on-site 24/7, the Ministry of Energy reported.
