Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- First Deputy Energy Minister Azim Akhmedkhojayev held talks with the company’s general vice president Nas Kentab and vice president Muhammad al Zahrani.

The meeting was organized as part of the working visit of the delegation of the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Uzbekistan to Saudi Arabia.

As noted by the Uzbek side, a number of areas of cooperation in the gas chemical industry have been discussed and worked out with SABIC, which is a transnational chemical production company of Saudi Arabia.

In particular, during the negotiations last year, including in an online format, SABIC expressed interest in cooperation in the implementation of such projects as MTO, the production of phosphate fertilizers and others.

During the meeting, new promising areas of cooperation in the gas chemical industry were also discussed, in particular, the production of linear alkylbenzene (LAB), the production of phthalic acid under the MTO project, the joint production of methanol-based polyoxymethylene and others.

An agreement was reached on a detailed study of the possibility of participation of the parties in the discussed areas.
