Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Late in the evening, on 14 January, information spread on social networks that the Kairakkum reservoir, located in neighboring Tajikistan, allegedly burst today.

The ministry noted that this information is false and has no basis whatsoever.

According to the data of the emergency department of Tajikistan, the Kairakkum reservoir is intact and is functioning normally. 

The Ministry of Emergencies of Uzbekistan urges residents not to believe rumors.
