Ministry of Education denies rumors about ban on last bell ceremonies in Uzbekistan schools
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — In the coming week, schools across Uzbekistan will hold their traditional Last Bell ceremonies. The Ministry of Preschool and School Education has reported that false information is circulating on social media about a ban on these important events and the introduction of restrictions.
The ministry clarified that since the final school day this year falls on Sunday, May 25 — a day off — the celebratory events dedicated to the Last Bell are scheduled for Saturday, 24 May.
The Last Bell is a significant and heartfelt occasion in every student’s life, especially for 11th-grade graduates who are taking their first steps into adulthood. On one hand, it marks a bittersweet farewell to dear classmates, beloved teachers, and the school itself. On the other hand, it is a joyful celebration of new opportunities, independence, and the student years ahead. It is truly a festive event!
The ministry confirms that the tradition of holding Last Bell ceremonies in a festive and solemn atmosphere will continue this year.
“We ask school staff, graduates, and respected parents to strictly observe safety measures during the events,” the ministry added.
