Ministry of Economy and ADB Discuss Regional Master Plans with French Company Groupe Huit

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 14 October 2025, representatives of the Main Directorate for Coordination of Land Reform and Master Plan Development under the Ministry of Economy and Finance met with experts from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the French company Groupe Huit.

The meeting was attended by ADB’s lead urban development expert Massimo Petrone, Groupe Huit’s chief urban planner Joss Guillaume, and other officials.

The French company Groupe Huit was engaged with the support of ADB to assist the Ministry of Economy and Finance in developing master plans.

As part of this collaboration, the company will focus on implementing already developed plans, creating new ones, improving existing legislation, and building capacity in urban planning based on international best practices.

The sides discussed the development and implementation of regional master plans, paying particular attention to the creation of a new master plan for the Tashkent district of Tashkent region, emphasizing rapid transport connectivity with the city, as well as the Water Park project near Jizzakh in Jizzakh region.

Following the meeting, the parties agreed to launch a pilot project to develop a master plan for Tashkent district and prepare financing proposals for infrastructure projects based on master plans with ADB funding.
