Minister of Innovative Development receives the Ambassador of India to Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 5 December 2020, Minister of Innovative Development of the Republic of Uzbekistan Ibrohim Abdurakhmonov held talks with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of India Manish Prabhat.

The Minister congratulated M. Prabhat on the new appointment and expressed hope for achieving new heights of cooperation in the future.

Abdurakhmonov noted that the Ministry of Innovative Development, as an authorized body for the introduction of innovations in public administration and the real sector of the economy of Uzbekistan, is actively working to develop and expand scientific and technical cooperation with India.

During the meeting, a number of projects implemented by the Ministry of Innovative Development with Indian partners were noted. Specifically, Routern.com Director Chandranata Sharma has been named Ambassador for the Ministry of Innovation in India. Cooperation has been established with Routern.com on the development of artificial intelligence and the transfer of innovative technologies. As part of the cooperation, an innovative display with artificial intelligence functions based on innovative technologies "Smart Building" by Routern.com is being installed in the new ministry building.

In cooperation with the Ministry of Science and Technology of the Republic of India, a joint scientific project competition was organized. As part of the competition, 137 projects were considered, and from the beginning of 2021 23 promising scientific and technical projects will be financed. Within the framework of this cooperation, 20 young scientists and researchers will undergo internships in India in 3 areas (biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, processing of large amounts of data).

In addition, together with Nath Bio-Genes, work is underway to organize the production of elite seeds based on high technologies on 20 hectares of land in the Samarkand region. The company is currently working on opening a representative office in Uzbekistan.

In collaboration with the Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India, 15 local startups were selected through interviews to exchange experiences, and negotiations are underway to send them to India.

During the meeting, the parties noted that due to the current epidemiological situation in the world, there are difficulties in the implementation of some projects.

Ambassador Manish Prabhat highly appreciated the volume and quality of work carried out by the Ministry of Innovative Development in cooperation with India, and expressed readiness to assist in finding solutions to existing problems and further expanding existing areas of cooperation.

Following the meeting, the parties agreed to work in all areas in the implementation of agreements in the field of science and technology.
