Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 25 May 2019, Minister of Innovative Development Ibrohim Abdurakhmonov received Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to Uzbekistan Sayyid Ali Asad Gillani. 

During the meeting, the parties exchanged views on further strengthening cooperation between Uzbekistan and Pakistan in the field of science and innovation, in particular, the organization of joint research projects between the two countries in the field of agriculture, physics and other fields. The agenda of the meeting also included the issue of mutual exchange of experience and scientific internships for young scientists.

The parties discussed issues of expanding scientific research in the field of cotton growing and expanding ties between research institutes in this area. It was also noted that the National University of Science and Technology of Pakistan should support cooperation between scientific and educational institutions of Uzbekistan, including the National Research University "Tashkent Institute of Irrigation and Agricultural Mechanization Engineers" and Gulistan State University.

As a result of the negotiations, an agreement was reached on cooperation with the Pakistani side in the above areas and studying the possibility of concluding an agreement on cooperation between the governments of the two countries in the field of science, innovation and technology.
