Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- As part of the participation of the delegation of Uzbekistan in the work of the 75th session of the World Health Assembly, a bilateral meeting was held between Minister of Health Behzod Musaev and WHO Director-General Tedres Ghebreyesus, Dunyo news agency reported.

At the meeting, the Director-General of the World Health Organization (WHO) got acquainted in detail with the reforms being implemented in Uzbekistan.

Thanks were expressed to WHO for assisting Uzbekistan in ensuring equal access to vaccines within the framework of the COVAX initiative.

In order to further expand cooperation between the republic and WHO and to familiarize locally with the whole range of reforms in the country in the field of healthcare, the director-general was invited to personally visit Uzbekistan in the near future.

A significant improvement in the health care system in recent years was noted and the readiness of the organization's experts to provide all possible assistance to the government of Uzbekistan in the implementation of the initiated large-scale reforms in the health sector was indicated.
