Minister for Environmental Protection of Latvia holds talks in Uzbekistan

A delegation of business circles of Latvia led by the Minister for Environmental Protection and Regional Development Kaspars Gerhards pays an official visit to Uzbekistan on 19-22 October.
On 21 October, Kaspars Gerhards met with the chairperson of the State Nature Committee of Uzbekistan and participated in a seminar on exchange of experience on ecologic clean technologies.
The Latvian delegation also held meetings with officials of the Ministry of Foreign Economic Relations, Investment and Trade of Uzbekistan and Uzbekiston Temir Yollari.
The officials of Ministry of Agriculture and Water Management, Chamber of Commerce and Industry, State Geology Committee, Uzkommunhizmat, Uzkimyosanoat, Uzbekenergo, Uzbekneftegaz and other Uzbek bodies attended at the seminar.
The Latvian companies presented their solution in introduction of new technologies to solve nature protection.
It was noted that Uzbekistan implements several state and sectoral programs, which includes measures on improving air, state of land and water resources, waste management, etc.
