Milliy Tiklanish project: Tourism is base for preserving and promoting historic heritage

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Central Council of Democratic Party of Uzbekistan “Milliy Tiklanish” and its faction at the Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan organized a roundtable “Future tasks for development of tourism in Uzbekistan” in Tashkent.

At the event, it was noted that Uzbekistan pays great attention to development of tourism sector. Last year, Samarkand was included to 50 cities of the world, which should be visited.

Sarvar Oramuratov, chairperson of the Central Council of Milliy Tiklanish, said that creation of legal framework to development of the industry help to achieve current results. He added that work on this direction will continue.

It was underlined that Milliy Tiklanish paus special attention to development of national tourism and support of reforms in tourism sector, the press service of the Uzbek party noted.

The party, based on its pre-election platform, believes that promotion of unique spiritual wealth and historic heritage of Uzbekistan to international community will serve to improving authority of Uzbekistan in international arena and upbringing of citizens in spirit of national dignity and patriotism.

In particular, the party tries to implement measures on further developing tourism infrastructure and creation of convenient services to travelers, introduction of modern ICT to various spheres of tourism industry.

Milliy Tiklanish pays great attention to quality of services, rendered at tourism objects, airports and stations, which are important factor for attracting tourists. The party supports further stimulation of investments inflow to tourism sector, as well as provision of preferences to private businesses.

Representative of Uzbektourism Abdulaziz Akkulov said that Uzbekistan created all modern conditions to ensure adequate rest of foreigners. Currently, Uzbekistan has 550 tour operators and agents, as well as 500 hotels. In last 8 years, over 300 private hotels were built, which can accept over 13,000 tourists.

Uzbekistan also improves transport services. Uzbekistan Havo Yollaru purchased modern Boeing and Airbus planes. Currently, there are 11 international airports in the country.

High speed train Afrosiyob, produced by Talgo, run between Tashkent and Samarkand to provide high quality services to tourists. Soon, the modern train will deliver tourists to Bukhara. Construction of railway via Qamchiq pass to Ferghana Valley will increase number of tourism routes.

The participants noted that it is necessary to further improve image of the country among foreign tourists and inform them about unique monuments. It was underlined that tourism exhibitions and Mega-info-tur help to promote Uzbekistan as tourism destination.

At the end of the event, the participants made their proposals on discussed issues. Milliy Tiklanish outlined future tasks on further developing tourism in Uzbekistan and strengthening its legal bases.
