Migration Amnesty in Russia Covered Over 150,000 Uzbek Citizens in 2025

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev stated that in 2025, more than 150,000 Uzbek citizens benefited from Russia’s migration amnesty program. The head of state emphasized that Tashkent remains concerned about the illegal stay of its citizens abroad.

“Last year in Russia, the migration amnesty was applied to over 150,000 of our citizens. We must facilitate the legal employment of Uzbeks abroad, intensify negotiations with foreign partners on this issue, and our citizens themselves must strictly comply with the laws of the host country,” Mirziyoyev said, as reported by his press service.

Additionally, the president instructed authorities to simplify the procedure for registering Uzbek citizens with consular services abroad and to reduce administrative burdens.

Special attention will be given to countries with high migrant flows, particularly in Europe, where work with labor migrants will become a priority task for consular services.
