Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- In connection with the information disseminated in social networks and electronic media about the forcible detention of a citizen of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Jivril, the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Ankara appealed to the official structures of the Republic of Turkey. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan.

According to the information received from law enforcement agencies, citizen of the Republic of Uzbekistan Sh.Kh. arrived in Turkey on 14 November 2020 in order to register a marriage with a Turkish citizen C.Ch. After a short period of living together, she decided to return to Uzbekistan, citing dissatisfaction with family life and social conditions, as well as the deterioration of her mother’s health.

According to the Embassy, a citizen of Uzbekistan is currently undergoing treatment in one of the clinics in Denizlin region for coronavirus infection, and therefore there is no possibility of direct communication with her.

According to the regional gendarmerie, the patient’s condition is assessed as stable; no bodily injuries were found in the compatriot.

The issue was taken under the special control of the Denizlin region prosecutor’s office, an inquiry is underway.

The situation is under constant control of the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Turkey, communication is maintained with the competent authorities and the medical institution where the compatriot is being treated.
