The officials of the Uzbek ministry visited the Egyptian diplomatic mission in Tashkent on 23 February 2016, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan said.

“The leadership of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan made an entry in the book of condolences opened at the Embassy of the Arab Republic of Egypt in Tashkent in connection with the death of prominent state and public figure of Egypt Boutros Boutros-Ghali, who held the UN Secretary-General post in the period of 1992-1996,” the statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan said.

Former UN Secretary-General Boutros Boutros-Ghali died in Cairo at the age of 93 on 16 February 2016.
