Metito Utilities Limited wins tender for the project “Construction of sewage treatment facilities based on PPP in the city of Namangan”

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 23 December 2021, at a ceremony held at the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Metito Utilities Limited from the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland was announced the winner of the tender for the project -private partnership in the city of Namangan.

The work on this project was carried out with the support of the Asian Development Bank together with the PPP Development Agency, the Ministry of Housing and Utilities Services and Uzsuvtaminot JSC in accordance with the Resolution of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan from 30 November 2018 “On additional development measures drinking water supply and sewerage systems in the Republic of Uzbekistan”.

A two-stage open and transparent tender was held for this project. In the first stage of the tender, 23 foreign companies interested in the project were sent a request for the submission of prequalification documents (RFQ). The second stage of the tender was attended by the company Metito Utilities Limited from the UK, as well as the consortium Almar Water Solutions BV from the Netherlands.

According to the financial proposals provided, the sum of accessibility fees from Metito Utilities Limited from Great Britain is 97.5 billion soums, and from Almar Water Solutions BV from the Netherlands – 103.1 billion soums.

On 20 December 2021, the interdepartmental tender commission for this project recognized Metito Utilities Limited (United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland) as the winner of an international tender that offered the lowest price for availability fee according to the financial proposal - an annual payment of US$9 million.

The cost of the project “Construction of sewage treatment facilities on the basis of public-private partnership in the city of Namangan” is US$90 million. Term is 25 years, of which the first 2 years are the construction period.

The project envisages construction of a sewage treatment plant with a capacity of 100,000 m3 per day and a sewage network with a length of 7.5 km.
