Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan hosted meetings of World Bank experts with leading economist for Central Asia Ivaylo Izvorsky, Chief Economists  Eskander Trushin and Vinayak Nagaraj.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Ministers Akhadbek Haidarov, Jamshid Abruev, directors of departments for spheres Sherzod Mukhamedov, Zuhriddin Ibragimov, Ajiniaz Kayapnazarov, Otabek Fozilkarimov, Adham Eshchanov from the Ministry of Finance.

During the meeting, the draft report (hereinafter referred to as the report), developed based on the results of studies conducted by the World Bank to assess the transformation process in the Republic of Uzbekistan, as well as issues of financing education, health and social protection during the pandemic at the expense of the state budget, were discussed.  

At the same time, the sides exchanged views on economic reforms in Uzbekistan, the impact of the COVID-19 crisis on the economy, and measures aimed at mitigating its negative impact.

At the end of the meeting, it was noted that the active participation and assistance of the World Bank in the ongoing reforms in our country are of great importance.
