Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Ministry of Economic Development and Poverty Reduction held a regular meeting with representatives of international financial institutions and the United Nations Development Program to discuss aspects of the creation, operation, and financing scheme of the "Green" Fund.
The event was attended by First Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Poverty Reduction Ilkhom Norkulov and Head of the World Bank Office in Uzbekistan Marco Mantovanelli, Head of the Asian Development Bank office in Uzbekistan Cindy Malvicini, Head of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development Alkis Drakinos, Head of the UN Development Program office in Uzbekistan Matilda Dimovska, experts of the French Development Agency, representatives of the Institute of Forecasting and Macroeconomic Research, the Ministry of Finance and others.
A lively discussion and exchange of views on the agenda took place. Foreign experts expressed their proposals on the implementation of the strategy of transition to a green economy in Uzbekistan in general, and on the creation of a "Green" Fund, in particular.
The parties also discussed issues of cooperation on the creation of the fund, its goals, objectives, and the scheme of its financing.
Following the meeting, an agreement was reached to continue joint work on the implementation of projects aimed at ensuring decarbonization and "green" growth in Uzbekistan.
