Medical institutions to receive equipment for US$21.5m

The Government of Uzbekistan adopted measures on realization of the project “Equipment of clinics of medical high educational institutions and republican clinical hospitals with modern medical equipment”.
The project is realized with the participation of the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED). KFAED provided loan for 6.5 million Kuwaiti Dinars (US$21.5 million) to the project.
The loan provided for 24 years, including four year grace period (2016-2019).
The Government approved the technical and economic assessment of the project with the basic technical and economic parameters and projected schedule of repayment of main loan and its interests.
Goods (services and works) and transports, purchased due to the KFAED, exempted from customs payments (including customs fee), VAT, mandatory payments and dues to the state funds.
The funds, exempted in the result of the provided benefits, is the contribution of Uzbekistan to the project, the document said.
