Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A Resolution of the President "On further strengthening the protection of public health in the Republic of Karakalpakstan in 2022-2024" was adopted.
In accordance with the Resolution, the following institutions will be created:
Children’s Medical Rehabilitation Center for 120 children with chronic diseases and disabilities in the Republic of Karakalpakstan;
Children’s sanatorium for phthisiology for 80 places;
surgical department for 20 places as part of the medical association of the city of Nukus;
Nukus branch of the Republican Specialized Scientific and Practical Medical Center for Surgery named after academician V. Vakhidov on the basis of the surgical department of the Multidisciplinary Medical Center of the Republic of Karakalpakstan;
departments for rendering palliative care to hopelessly seriously ill patients (hospice) for 20 places as part of the medical association of the city of Nukus within the available beds.
Until the end of 2022, measures will be taken to:
creation of an additional 34 mahalla medical centers in mahallas remote from primary health care facilities;
provision of the ambulance service with 63 units of special ambulance vehicles.
From 1 September 2022, measures will be taken to:
creation on the basis of branches of central multidisciplinary polyclinics and family polyclinics, as well as organizing the activities of 16 family doctor points;
introduction of a screening program for helminthiasis among children aged 2–10 years
and anemia among girls aged 12–15 years for early detection of common diseases in children.
According to the Resolution, the post of Deputy Minister for Medical Service in the Aral Sea region was introduced.
The Deputy Minister for Medical Services in the Aral Sea region organizes his activities on a priority basis in the Aral Sea region and ensures that appropriate measures are taken to solve problems in the field directly on the ground, based on the peculiarities of cities and regions.
From 1 July 2022, all employees working in leper colonies will receive a 50 percent bonus to their official salary.
According to the Resolution:
family doctors with at least 3 years of work experience will be trained in retraining courses at the expense of the local budget to carry out activities in primary care as narrow specialists;
graduates of medical universities and specialists of medical institutions will be trained in retraining courses to carry out activities in the ambulance and emergency medical service at the expense of the Emergency Medical Care Development Fund;
In 2022-2024, at least 75 medical workers will be sent to prestigious foreign medical institutions and centers for advanced training and internships.
The Resolution approved the Program of Additional Measures to Improve the Quality and Efficiency of Providing Health Care to the Population in the Republic of Karakalpakstan for 2022-2024.
