Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 1 August, Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan Jamshid Khodjaev held a video conference meeting on the analysis of the current state and prospects for the further development of free economic zones (FEZ), small industrial (SIZ) and youth industrial and business zones (IBZ) of the country.

The meeting was attended by heads of ministries and departments, industry associations, directorates of the SEZ, SIZ and IBZ, local authorities, as well as representatives of the Prosecutor General’s Office.

It was emphasized that in order to further improve the efficiency of the activities of the SEZ, SIZ and IBZ, on 13 June 2022, a corresponding Decree of the President was adopted, in accordance with which a simplified procedure for administration, allocation of land, obtaining customs benefits when importing equipment and placing projects on the territories of industrial zones is introduced. , as well as other benefits and preferences.

During the meeting, the progress of work on the timely implementation of investment projects planned for placement on the territories of industrial zones was considered in a critical manner. The reports of the heads of directorates of industrial zones were heard, instructions were given to review the network schedules for the implementation of projects with the setting of advanced deadlines for their implementation. The relevant heads of ministries and departments were instructed to take control of the implementation of the requirements of the Decree with the preparation and submission of detailed analytical reports on a systematic basis in the context of each industrial zone.

The course of ongoing work to improve the infrastructure of the SEZ, SIZ and IBZ was discussed. Targeted instructions were given to accelerate the development and coordination of the technical and economic parameters of infrastructure projects, holding relevant tenders and disbursing the allocated funding in order to timely implement projects.

As a result of the meeting, responsible leaders were warned of personal responsibility for the timely and high-quality implementation of the requirements of the Decree of the Head of State with the imposition of control on the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
