Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A delegation from Uzbekistan paid a working visit to the capital of Tatarstan, the city of Kazan. Khokim of Tashkent Jakhongir Artikhodjaev, Minister of Housing and Utilities of Uzbekistan Sherzod Khidoyatov and khokim of Tashkent region Davron Khidoyatov met with the Mayor of the capital of Tatarstan Ilsur Metshin and discussed prospects for cooperation, the press service of the Kazan mayor’s office reported.

At present, Kazan’s cooperation with the Republic of Uzbekistan is mainly carried out within the framework of an agreement on friendship and partnership, signed in 1998 between the capital of Tatarstan and Tashkent.

Similar bilateral meetings of representatives of the Executive Committee of Kazan and Uzbekistan are held annually. Earlier, guests from the republic have already come to the capital of Tatarstan. Then they expressed interest in exchanging experience in several areas and sectors of the urban economy. The representatives of the delegation were told about digitalization in the housing sector of the capital of Tatarstan and projects that are being implemented in the city in this direction. A little later, representatives of the Republic of Uzbekistan shared the first results of their work, based on the experience of Kazan.

In addition, representatives of Kazan and Uzbekistan discussed cooperation in the tourism sector, in particular, the possibility of launching direct flights between the republics.

The meeting was attended by Assistant to the President of Tatarstan Natalia Fishman-Bekmambetova, Consul General of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Kazan Fariddin Nasriev and others.
