Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A mass vaccination of children against polio is taking place in Uzbekistan from 20 to 30 September. The Service of Sanitary and Epidemiological Welfare informs about it.
As part of this campaign, they plan to vaccinate children aged 4 to 5 against polio. 1.2 million doses of inactivated polio vaccine were delivered to medical institutions in Uzbekistan.
Before immunization, children will undergo a medical examination, and after receiving the vaccination, they will be under patronage supervision for three days.
The vaccination campaign focuses on the identification of wild poliovirus cases in Afghanistan and Tajikistan.
