Masdar and EUDC to Develop 24/7 “Green” Energy Project in Uzbekistan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan is set to implement a renewable energy project providing continuous, round-the-clock electricity, the country’s Ministry of Energy reported.
The agreement for the joint development of the project was signed by representatives of the Ministry of Energy of Uzbekistan, Masdar, and Emirates Utilities Development Company (EUDC) during the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week 2026, held in Abu Dhabi from January 11 to 15.
The forum brought together government officials, executives of major international companies, and financial institutions from more than 150 countries.
The signing ceremony included Uzbekistan’s Deputy Prime Minister Jamshid Khodjaev, Minister of Energy Jurabek Mirzamahmudov, UAE Minister of Energy and Infrastructure Suhail Muhammad Al Mazrouei, and Masdar CEO Muhammad Jamil Al Ramahi. The agreements were signed by JSC “Uzenergosbyt,” Masdar, and the parent company Etihad Water & Electricity (EUDC).
The project aims to provide uninterrupted electricity supply of up to 1 GW on a 24/7 basis. Around-the-clock renewable energy generation will minimize power outages and create large-scale base capacity at competitive tariffs.
Experts note that the project could serve as an international benchmark for reliable “green” energy capable of meeting the growing global demand for sustainable electricity sources.
