Man Detained in Kashkadarya for Attempting to Sell Gold Coins
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A man was detained in Mubarek District of Kashkadarya Region while attempting to sell ten gold coins from the era of Nicholas II for 71 million soums.
Experts determined that the coins date from 1897–1901 and are made of a precious gold alloy, with a total net weight of approximately 43 grams.
The arrest occurred during a cash transaction. A criminal case has been opened under Article 177 of the Criminal Code (illegal acquisition or sale of currency valuables), and the investigation is ongoing.
