Malaysian companies to explore the logistics possibilities for creating a hub for in-bulk production of palm oil in Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 18 February, the Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Malaysia Ravshan Usmanov met with the Deputy Director at Malaysian Palm Oil Council – MPOC Faisal Iqbal.

The sides considered current state and prospects of trade-economic cooperation development.

MPOC’s mission is to promote the market expansion of Malaysian palm oil and its products by enhancing the image of palm oil and creating better acceptance of palm oil through awareness of various technological and economic advantages and environmental sustainability. The organization has offices in all states of Malaysia, as well as in the United States, Belgium, Turkey, Russia, China, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Egypt and Ghana.

Following the negotiations, an agreement was reached on organizing the visit of the major palm oil producers of Malaysia led by the leadership of MPOC to Uzbekistan, in March 2019.

In Uzbekistan, MPOC delegation plans to explore the logistics possibilities for creating a hub for deep processing and in-bulk production of palm oil for further export of finished products to Central Asian and the CIS countries.
