Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Diplomats of the Embassy of Uzbekistan held talks on the prospects for establishing trade and economic cooperation with the director of the Malaysian company Alpha Indera Mohd Shukri, Dunyo news agency reported.
During the meeting, the issue of supplying high-quality Uzbek textile and agricultural products to Malaysia was discussed.
Founded in 1990, Alpha Indera co-finances promising investment projects in the industrial and construction sectors. The company also cooperates with the largest electronic trading platforms "Lazada" and "Shopee" to organize sales of garments and agricultural products in Southeast Asia.
The Malaysian side was informed about the investment, export and transport and communication potential of Uzbekistan, as well as the ongoing economic reforms aimed at improving the business environment in the country, including within the framework of free economic zones.
Within the framework of the meeting, Mohd Shukri highly appreciated the measures taken in Uzbekistan to support the activities of exporting enterprises, in particular by providing additional benefits in the form of a refund of value added tax, which is an effective mechanism for ensuring the growth of the country’s economic indicators, uninterrupted supply of goods to foreign markets and an important incentive in the recovery of small and medium-sized businesses during the coronavirus pandemic.
The director of the Alpha Indera company expressed interest in establishing mutually beneficial partnerships with Uzbek exporting enterprises to organize the export of high-quality products of the textile and agricultural industries to Malaysia. According to him, the imported products will be sold through the networks of large wholesale and retail trade networks in Malaysia, with which close cooperation has been established.
As a result of the meeting, an agreement was reached on organizing a visit of the company’s representatives to Uzbekistan in December to conduct negotiations with domestic exporting enterprises of agricultural and textile products, as well as familiarize themselves with their activities in order to study the possibility of concluding contracts for the export of their products to Malaysia.
On 16 October, representatives of the Embassy of our country organized negotiations via video communication between 10 private Uzbek companies-exporters of textile products with the director of the Malaysian company CSW Marketing Richard Chi, which is engaged in trade in high-quality textile products, including fabrics and finished products. As a result, the parties agreed to exchange commercial offers to consider the possibility of signing export contracts.
