Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Governor of Namangan region Shavkat Abdurazzakov has launched a large-scale tourism development project along the Naryn River in the Uchkurgan district, the regional administration's press service reported.

The project covers a 12-kilometer stretch of riverbank and aims to promote all types of tourism, including both active and family-oriented activities.

Special attention is being given to the nearby diversion canals, around which new recreational zones will also be established.

Spanning an area of 30 hectares, the site will feature a water park, flower garden, amphitheater, capsule-style rest accommodations, interactive attractions, restaurants, and a landscaped promenade. The initiative is expected to create over 450 jobs.

During his visit, Abdurazzakov also presented development plans for the area surrounding the Naryn Hydroelectric Cascade. In the “Buston” mahalla of Uychi district, a tourism zone is set to be established with a swimming pool, sports grounds, recreation areas, and camping facilities.

Additionally, 20 hectares have been earmarked in Uychi district for the construction of a complex of multi-storey residential buildings. The new residential area will include integrated tourist infrastructure and walking paths that harmonize with the natural landscape.
