Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Security Service officers in Tashkent, working alongside the Ministry of Internal Affairs, have dismantled a major synthetic drug laboratory and seized a substantial quantity of narcotics and precursors.

During the operation, a 1979-born individual was detained. He had been concealing drugs imported from abroad in apartment corridors and other locations throughout the capital.

An inspection of his belongings and vehicle revealed 15 small packages of the narcotic “Alpha-PVP” and 24 packages of “Mephedrone.” In the basement of his apartment, authorities discovered a fully equipped drug production lab.

In total, 2.8 kilograms of narcotics, 11.5 liters of precursors, and specialized drug manufacturing equipment were confiscated. Using geolocation data found on the suspect’s phone, officers also located and seized an additional 49.9 kilograms of synthetic drugs and 48 liters of precursors in the Khavos district of the Syrdarya region.

A criminal case has been opened under Articles 28, Part 2; 246; and 273, Part 5 of the Criminal Code of Uzbekistan. The suspect has been placed under arrest, and investigative actions are ongoing.

The Security Service reminded citizens to report illegal drug activities via the short number 1520, assuring full confidentiality for informants.
