Major fire breaks out at Railcar Repair Depot in Tashkent
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — In the early hours of 16 May, a major fire broke out at a railcar repair depot located near the North Railway Station in Tashkent. The emergency services received a report of the blaze at 11:58 PM.
The fire engulfed a large area and was visible from a considerable distance. Residents of nearby neighborhoods reported a strong smell of smoke spreading throughout the area.
Firefighting units arrived at the scene by 12:03 AM. According to the Tashkent Department of Emergency Situations, the blaze was localized by 1:31 AM and fully extinguished by 2:48 AM.
Fortunately, no casualties were reported. Authorities are currently working to determine the cause of the fire and assess the extent of the damage.
