Main technological equipment delivered to GTL plant site
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev at a meeting on 21 February, devoted to the analysis of the impact of ongoing reforms in the oil, gas and chemical industries, stressed the need for the integrated development of the fuel and energy sector, the press service of the press service of the Ministry of Energy said.
The head of state noted that the country is carrying out consistent work on the diversification of energy sources, in-depth processing of oil and gas to produce high value-added products, for example, the GTL project.
These days, the construction site of a plant for production of synthetic liquid fuel (GTL project) in Kashkadarya region across the territory of Uzbekistan is followed by two units of the main large-size technological equipment weighing 550 and 350 tonnes each.
The purpose of the new plant is in-depth processing of natural gas, with the production of kerosene, diesel fuel, naphtha and liquefied gas.
This investment project is implemented on the basis of the decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan “Production of synthetic liquid fuels based on purified methane from the Shurtan Gas Chemical Complex” (No. PP-2706 of December 29, 2016).
The party of the main large-size technological equipment is on its way from Karakalpakstan to Kashkadarya region. Prior to this, the cargo passed several countries, having traveled several thousand kilometers, through sea routes and main logistics routes to Uzbekistan. They will arrive at the plant in March.
These units, weighing 550 tonnes, 39 meters long and 6.9 meters in diameter, as well as weighing 350 tonnes and 25 meters long, will be used in the workshop for the production of a synthetic liquid of the plant under construction. Thanks to these plants, the resulting synthesis gas (methane + oxygen) as a result of physicochemical reactions and technological processes will be converted into synthetic liquid fuel - the so-called semi-finished product, from which, after going through a number of processes, the main oil products, such as diesel, kerosene and naphtha.
To date, implementation of the project GTL entered the active phase. At the construction site mobilized more than 5 thousand workers, builders and engineers, involved more than 500 units of construction and special equipment.
Construction of the GTL plant in Uzbekistan continues at an active pace. The overall progress of the implementation of the contract on a turnkey basis exceeded 71%.
Construction work continues at the construction site of the plant for the production of synthetic liquid fuel in Kashkadarya region, which has been completed by more than 25%.
In total, more than 11 thousand units of technological equipment are manufactured at more than 129 plants in 24 countries of the world for the GTL plant under construction in Uzbekistan. At the moment, delivery of high-tech and large-sized equipment to the construction site is carried out.
Today, more than 116 sets of high-tech equipment delivered to the construction site, where they have already begun installation and installation.
About 153 sets have already been shipped to the construction site from manufacturers and are on their way to Uzbekistan.
It should be noted that the GTL project implementation will provide an opportunity to ensure the annual import substitution of petroleum products in the amount of up to 1.5 million tonnes.
The raw material base for the plant for the production of synthetic liquid fuels is purified gas - methane from the Shurtan Gas Chemical Complex, its volume per year will be 3.6 billion cubic meters.
The plant will annually produce more than 1.5 million tonnes of high-quality synthetic liquid fuel that meets the EURO 5 standard, including 743.5 thousand tonnes of diesel fuel, 311 thousand tonnes of aviation kerosene, more than 431 thousand tonnes of naphtha, more than 50 thousand tonnes of liquefied gas.
