Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 25 March, the National Exhibition Complex “Uzexpocenter” in Tashkent hosted the opening of the first international exhibition, “Made in Afghanistan Expo – Tashkent 2026,” organized by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan.

The event brought together official representatives from both countries, government officials, business leaders, international organizations, and media. A delegation of approximately 120 Afghan entrepreneurs, led by Muhammad Karim Khoshimi, Chairman of the Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Investment, received special attention.

Participants emphasized the exhibition’s role as a platform for fostering bilateral business dialogue, building sustainable partnerships, and increasing trade volumes.

According to 2025 data, trade between the two countries reached US$1.68 billion, with Uzbekistan exporting US$1.53 billion to Afghanistan and importing over US$145 million, reflecting a 50% increase from the previous period. As of 1 January 2026, more than 600 enterprises with Afghan capital were operating in Uzbekistan.

The exhibition features food products, agricultural goods, construction materials, textiles, jewelry, carpets, and traditional handicrafts. B2B meetings, presentations, and the signing of new cooperation agreements between Uzbek and Afghan companies are scheduled throughout the event, which will run until March 28, 2026.
