Machinery industry’s output hits 4.05trln soums in Jan-May

Enterprises of machinery industry of Uzbekistan produced goods for 4.051 trillion soums in January-May 2013, which rose by 24.1% year-on-year, the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan said.
Uzbekistan produced 96,889 automobiles in the reporting period, which grew by 12% year-on-year. The country also increased production of trucks twice and buses – 1.9 times, specialized automobiles – 24.1% and automobiles – 11.1%.
At the same time, Uzbekistan increased production of engines (267.8 times) and batteries (18.6%), in the reporting period.
Large industrial enterprises also recorded growth of agriculture equipment, including tractor trailers (3.9 times), grain harvesters (2.1 times), harrows (1.9 times) and tractors (1.7 times).
Uzbekistan also increased production of electrotechnical products, including signal – blocking cables (2.5 times), household wires (2.5 times), adjusting wires (38.3%), hose wire (29.5%), power cables (+6.1%), radio frequency wires and cables (3.8%).
