LUKOIL to provide grants to IUT students

Deputy Director-General for personnel and organizational development of LUKOIL Uzbekistan Operating Company Sergey Starostinsky visited IUT on 29 March and held talks with the IUT Rector Sherzod Shermatov.

During the visit, LUKOIL representative was familiarized with curriculum and conditions, created for students, pre-university and corporate courses, offered by the university.

In his turn, Sergey Starostinsky briefed IUT representatives on projects and plans of LUKOIL in Uzbekistan, including training specialists for Kandym gas processing complex. This is one of the largest projects of LUKOIL not only in Uzbekistan, but also in other countries of operation.

The sides also considered other perspective directions of cooperation, including organization of internships for students and lectures of LUKOIL specialists at IUT.

Taking into account importance of training required number of IT specialists and IUT reputation as educational establishment with high international education standard, LUKOIL is planning to found a programme of supporting IUT students, Sergey Starostinsky said.

At the end of the meeting, Sergey Starostinsky wrote an entry in the book of honorable guests of Inha University in Tashkent.

IUT expressed its gratitude to management of LUKOIL Uzbekistan Operating Company for support and contribution to training highly skilled specialists for economy of Uzbekistan and calls other companies and organizations to invest in education.
