Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan is at the forefront in organizing greater access to information, Alexander Lukin, director of the Center for East Asian and SCO Studies at MGIMO, said at the SCO scientific and expert forum on information security, held today in Tashkent.

“Uzbekistan has recently been at the forefront in organizing greater access to information,” the expert said. In his opinion, the SCO countries, including Uzbekistan, have a remarkable experience in providing greater freedom of information than now in the rest of the world.

On 6 September, Tashkent is hosting the SCO scientific and expert forum on information security, organized by the ISMI under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan with the support of the Ministry for the Development of Information Technologies and Communications of Uzbekistan, together with the Executive Committee of the SCO Regional Anti-Terrorist Structure.

More than 60 leading experts from relevant ministries and departments, scientific, academic and analytical circles of the SCO member states take part in the work of the scientific and expert forum in a hybrid format with online connection.
