Lukashenko Offers Uzbekistan Help in Building NPP
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko has offered Uzbekistan assistance in building a nuclear power plant during a meeting with Uzbekistan’s ambassador to Belarus, Rakhmatulla Nazarov, in Minsk.
According to the Belarusian leader, the country has developed the necessary expertise in the field of nuclear energy and is ready to share its experience within the framework of bilateral cooperation.
“We know about your interest in our specialists in terms of building a nuclear power station. We gained these competencies thanks to our cooperation with Russia. Together with Russian partners we work in many parts of the world where nuclear power units are being constructed. If it suits you, come at any time when needed. Representatives of Uzbekistan can meet with our specialists and discuss the details — the minister will give the necessary instructions,” Lukashenko was quoted as saying by the BelTA news agency.
Lukashenko emphasized that Minsk is prepared to assist in the implementation of Uzbekistan’s nuclear power plant project.
“We will try to ensure that our specialists provide you with all possible assistance. You will see yourselves where we can be useful to you,” he said.
According to the Belarusian president, Belarus has accumulated practical experience and expertise in the nuclear sector and is ready to use it to expand cooperation with Uzbekistan.
