Lower Chamber Sends Draft Amendments to Administrative Liability Code to Senate

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Deputies of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis have approved a draft law introducing amendments and additions to the Code on Administrative Liability and forwarded it to the Senate for further consideration, the press service of the lower house reported.

The draft establishes liability for failing to inform a buyer, prior to the sale of a vehicle, about any changes in the odometer readings or its replacement, if the seller was knowingly aware of such changes.

Additionally, the law proposes mandatory participation of a teacher or psychologist in cases involving administrative offenses committed by minors. The responsibility for ensuring the involvement of these specialists lies with the authorities or officials authorized to consider administrative cases.

The draft also clarifies the right of the person subject to administrative liability, the victim, a lawyer, or a legal representative to refuse the participation of a judge or official, and enumerates circumstances that may prevent their participation in the proceedings.
