Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — In 2025, low-income families in Uzbekistan were refunded nearly 184 billion soums through the social VAT cashback program, according to the State Tax Committee of Uzbekistan.
A total of 375,600 beneficiaries received payments, reflecting systematic support for citizens with low incomes.
The largest refunds were issued in Samarkand Region — 42 billion soums, the city of Tashkent — 31.6 billion soums, and Andijan Region — 25.5 billion soums.
From 1 May 2023, individuals included in the “Unified Social Protection Register” receive a VAT refund of 12% instead of the standard 1% cashback when purchasing certain goods at retail outlets, under the social cashback program.
To claim the refund, beneficiaries must scan the QR code on the receipt using the Soliq mobile application.
