Light industry of Uzbekistan produce goods for 7.95 trln. soums

Enterprises of light industry of Uzbekistan produced goods for 7.955 trillion soums in 2013, which rose by 13.2% year-on-year, the information service of the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan said.
The committee said that the share of industry in total industrial production of Uzbekistan reached 13% in 2013 against 12.9% in 2012.
In the reporting period, textile enterprises produced products for 6.68 trillion soums (+11.2%, including ginnery industry – 5.6%, cotton goods manufacture – 14.3% and knitwear manufacture – 31.8%), enterprises of clothing manufacture – 718.1 billion soums (+23.8%) and leather-footwear production enterprises– 422.5 billion soums (+20.3%).
In 2013, large enterprises of light industry increased production of cotton fabrics by 1.4 times, knitted fabric - 1.3 times, cotton - 1.2 times, jerseys - by 7.4%, and mixed fabric - 7%.
Production of textile haberdashery of Uzbekistan grew by 2.3 times, materials for footwear production – 1.9 times, raw silk yarn – 1.4 times, and hosiery products – 4 8%.
