Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — During a session of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis, deputies conducted a detailed article-by-article review of the draft law "On Amendments and Additions to the Land Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan" in its second reading.

The document introduces clear legal norms that categorize agricultural land into two distinct groups based on their usage: land designated for direct agricultural production and land used for agricultural support purposes.

The draft law also strengthens legal protections for irrigated land, stipulating that its use for other purposes will only be permitted in cases of significant changes in water supply and soil quality.

Additionally, the bill clarifies the distinctions between reserve land plots and unoccupied plots under the jurisdiction of district and municipal authorities, which become available due to the termination of land use rights.

During the revision process for the second reading, amendments were made based on proposals from the responsible parliamentary committee to refine regulations governing the placement of facilities in accordance with permitted land use categories for agricultural purposes.

The adoption of this law will ensure fairness and transparency in land relations while creating more effective conditions for the rational use of land plots.

Following discussions, deputies supported and approved the draft law.
