Legislative Chamber approves law on remote video visits for convicts
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis has adopted a bill aimed at enabling remote video visits for convicts serving their sentences in correctional facilities.
The amendments and additions to the Penal Enforcement Code establish conditions for online meetings between convicts and their relatives, allowing for remote video visits in Ministry of Internal Affairs (MVD) correctional institutions.
The bill also defines the number, conditions, and procedures for exercising the right to such video visits, as well as providing additional opportunities for their implementation.
The bill was approved by the deputies in the third reading.
