Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- At a regular meeting of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis, deputies considered in the first reading the draft law "On ratification of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities" (New York, on 13 December 2006).

As emphasized, the ratification of the Convention will allow comprehensively and on the basis of international standards to systematically solve the problems of the rights of persons with disabilities, strengthen the system of social protection of their rights, create the foundation for their full participation in the life of the state and society.

This document will allow attracting targeted resources of international organizations and foreign states to strengthen social and legal protection of persons with disabilities.

At the meeting, the bill was adopted by the deputies and will be sent to the Senate.
